WillSpread
WillSpread - the indicator to work on related markets was proposed by the famous trader Larri Vilyamsom and described in his book "Long-term secrets of short-term trading."
Example related instruments: futures on the RTS index and oil prices of Brent futures or pair ruble dollar and oil prices.
Essentially indicator defines the "overheating" of the market, in relation to another. If the difference of two reaches extreme values, and then begins to decline, a signal appears in the opening position. Ease of use is an indicator that there is no need to control the price chart 2.
The indicator is calculated in 2 stages:
- Step 1: Calculate the spread between the two instruments:
Spread = trading tool (Close) / Associated tool (Close) * 100,
Where
trading tool (Close) - the closing price of the instrument on which the opening of the transaction, such as the RTS Index futures
Related tools (Close) - Price-related tools such as futures on Brent oil
- Step 2. The obtained value is averaged with different periods and calculate indicator
WillSpread = EMA (Spread, 20) - EMA (Spread, 5)
Where
EMA (Spread, 20) - averaging Spread via exponential moving average with a period of 20
EMA (Spread, 5) - averaging Spread via exponential moving average with a period of 5
Standard application involves opening WillSpread long positions at the intersection of the signal level of 0 from the bottom up and open short, the breakdown level 0 downward.
Indicator starts in character window, which is going to trade. In this case, the associated symbol window should be opened.
Input parameters of the indicator
- symbol_trade - trading instrument (name symbol for trading), the default "Si Splice" - gluing on a pair of ruble futures dollar
- name_add_symb - related tools (name related symbol), the default "BR Splice" - gluing futures for Brent crude oil
- fast_ma - a period of rapid moving average, default 5
- slow_ma - during the slow moving average, default 20
